Intro

My passion lies in exploring the intersection of a diverse set of fields: technology, business, sustainability, health science, psychology. I love to build and to imagine how we can break into previously impossible spaces using technology. Today's world revolves around technology, for better or for worse. I hope to focus on the better part, and continue improving the world through implementation of technology in spaces where it can be used to produce an incredible impact.

I always enjoyed working with data, and worked on many data science focused projects in my past. I am also a Software Engineer and have had the incredible fortune to learn best practices from some extremely talented engineers. Outside of work, I love trying all of the food that NYC has to offer, learning random things about neuroscience or geography, reading a good book, playing all of the daily NYT games, traveling, practicing yoga, and curating extremely specific playlists.

BU Spark! Evaluating Physical Disorders in Cities with Machine Learning

In partnership with Shape-Up (Doctor Jonathan Jay)
Github Repository
LotClassifier

Our team of 4 students built a supervised machine learning model that is able to take coordinates and identify if there exists a vacant lot in that location. This contributed to research being done by Dr. Jonathan Jay related to the prevalance of gun violence in areas with more vacant lots.

BU Spark! Using Data Science to Visualize Impact of Police Contributions on Disciplinary Action

In partnership with Mijente (Boston)
Github Repository

Using public data, our team collected information regarding donations towards political campaigns in the city of Boston, as well as Boston Police Department officer misconduct data. We used data science tools (Tensorflow, Keras, Scrapy, Beautiful Soup, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, Numpy, Matplotlib) to scrape, analyze, and visualize the various patterns in this data in order to understand the relationship between police contributions and disciplinary action when accused of misconduct. This work was done to help Mijente, an organization that helps Latinx and Chicanx individuals through political campaigns.

SayMine, Machine Learning Internship

Mine

As an intern at SayMine (Mine), I worked on optimizing and adding functionality to the existing machine learning models that are implemented by the company. This process including manually gathering and tagging data, pre-processing text data, training the model, and tweaking the model's layers and inputs to improve accuracy for the newly added information. Additionally, I implemented an in-depth analysis of the data using visualization from Pandas and SciKit-Learn libraries on Python. I was also able to test different implementations, seeing the effects of implementing different unsupervised models for NLP as opposed to a supervised learning model.

Leadership

Fall 2020 - BUSI

BUSI Calendar Fall 2020

Over the Fall 2020 semester, our on-campus organization was able to put on 10 incredibly successful events, most of which involved hosting guest speakers. Due to the pivot to a remote model of learning and interacting, all of these events were held virtually and safely. This was the first time that our group succeeded to put on so many events in one semester, and we were able to make extraordinary process toward our goal and commitment to educate the student body and provide diversity in information with our platform. This also took incredibly hard work, organization, task-delegation, and communication.
